(2 Sam. 11:2-4)
Ẹdẹ ọkpa, vbe ẹdẹ ghi ye egbe rrie odẹ ẹdogbota nẹ, e Devid keghi kpaegbe vbe ovbe avan nọ vbiẹre, ọ keghi hin egedege ẹguae. Ọ kegha hẹko khian lẹga vbe odukhunmwu nii, evba ẹre ọ na ya bẹghe okhuo nọ khuẹ. Okhuo na keghi wa mose ẹsẹse.
One evening* David got up from his bed and walked around on the rooftop of the king’s house.* From the rooftop he saw a woman bathing, and the woman was very beautiful.
3 Irẹn keghi gie orhiọnkpa nọ ya gualọ otọ ọmwa nọ khin, ọ keghi miẹn wẹẹ Batsiẹba ne ovbi Eliam nọ, ọ keghi re amwẹ Uraia ne ovbi e Hiti.
3 David sent someone to inquire about the woman, and he reported: “Is this not Bath-sheʹba the daughter of E·liʹam and the wife of U·riʹah the Hitʹtite?”
4 E Devid keghi gie uhunmwu ya rhie ẹre rre, ọ keghi gu ẹre ru emwi ọdọ vbe amwẹ. (Te ọ da khuẹ vbe ehe ẹghẹ ne a kha na.) Ẹre ọ na gha rrie owa.
4 Then David sent messengers to bring her. So she came in to him, and he lay down with her. (This happened while she was purifying herself from her uncleanness.*) Afterward, she returned to her house.

Then Nathan said to David: “You are the man! This is what Jehovah the God of Israel says: ‘I myself anointed you as king over Israel, and I rescued you from the hand of Saul.
8 I rhie arriọba ẹre nuẹn kevbe avbe amwẹ ọnrẹn. I yaa ma ọba Izrẹl kevbe Juda. Akpawẹ ọna ma vbe sẹ, I gha vbe viọ ukhukhu eva ba ruẹ re.
8 I was willing to give you your master’s house and put your master’s wives in your arms, and I gave you the house of Israel and of Judah. And as if that were not enough, I was willing to do much more for you.
9 Vbọzẹe ne u na rra uhi mwẹ? Vbọzẹe ne u na ru emwi dan na. U wẹ ne iran gbe Uraia rua vbe okuo, u gie iran ne ivbi Amọn gbe rua. Iyeke ọnii, u keghi rhie amwẹ ọnrẹn.
9 Why did you despise the word of Jehovah by doing what is bad in his eyes? You struck down U·riʹah the Hitʹtite with the sword! Then you took his wife as your wife after you killed him by the sword of the Amʹmon·ites.
10 Banbanna nian, te a gha miẹn ivbi ruẹ eso nọ gha wu uwu ikpanikpan vbe orre hia, rhunmwuda, urra uhi mwẹ, u keghi rhie amwẹ Uraia.
10 Now a sword will never depart from your own house, because you despised me by taking the wife of U·riʹah the Hitʹtite as your wife.’
11 I vbe yan ma ruẹn nian wẹ I gha ru ẹre ne ovbi uwowa ruẹ ha si ọlọghọmwa ye ruẹ egbe. U gha ye aro miẹn ọnrẹn vbe I gha viọ avbe amwẹ ọnrẹn ne okpia ọvbehe, ọ ghi gha gu iran ru emwi ọdọ vbe amwẹ vbe ogiavan ogioghogho.
11 This is what Jehovah says: ‘Here I am bringing against you calamity from within your own house; and before your own eyes, I will take your wives and give them to another man,* and he will lie down with your wives in broad daylight.*

9 Why did you despise the word of Jehovah by doing what is bad in his eyes? You struck down U·riʹah the Hitʹtite with the sword! Then you took his wife as your wife after you killed him by the sword of the Amʹmon·ites.
10 Banbanna nian, te a gha miẹn ivbuẹ eso ne ọ gha wu uwu ikpanikpan vbe orre hia, rhunmwuda, u rra uhi mwẹ, u keghi rhie amwẹ Uraia.
10 Now a sword will never depart from your own house, because you despised me by taking the wife of U·riʹah the Hitʹtite as your wife.’
11 I vbe yan ma ruẹn nian wẹ I gha ru ẹre ne ovbi uwowa ruẹ gha si ọlọghọmwa yọ ruẹ egbe. U gha ye aro miẹn onrẹn vbe I gha viọ avbe amwẹ ọnrẹn ne okpia ọvbehe, ọ ghi gha gu iran ru emwi ọdọ vbe amwẹ vbe ogiavan ogioghogho.
11 This is what Jehovah says: ‘Here I am bringing against you calamity from within your own house; and before your own eyes, I will take your wives and give them to another man,* and he will lie down with your wives in broad daylight.*
12 Ẹkhokho wẹ na rukhọ sokpan, ogiavan ogioghogho mẹ ra ya gie ọna sunu, ne Izrẹl hia bẹghe ẹre.’”
12 Although you acted in secret, I will do this in front of all Israel and in broad daylight.’”*
13 E Devid keghi kha wẹẹ, “I ru orukhọ ghe Nọyaẹnmwa nẹ.” E Natan keghi wanniẹn wẹẹ, “E Nọyaẹnmwa ya bọọ, ui ghi ra wu.
13 David then said to Nathan: “I have sinned against Jehovah.” Nathan replied to David: “Jehovah, in turn, forgives your sin.* You will not die.
14 Sokpan rhunmwuda otilua ne u mwẹ ghe Nọyaẹnmwa, ọmọ na gha wu.
14 Nevertheless, because you have treated Jehovah with utter disrespect in this matter, the son just born to you will certainly die.”

Then David comforted his wife Bath-sheʹba. He went in to her and lay down with her. In time she bore a son, and he was named Solʹo·mon.* And Jehovah loved him,

When King David reached Ba·huʹrim, a man of the family of Saul’s house named Shimʹe·i, the son of Geʹra, came out shouting curses as he approached.
6 E Simẹi keghi suẹn gha filo okuta gbe Devid kevbe avbe ekhaẹmwẹ ọnrẹn, egbe ne a rhe ya miẹn wẹẹ emwa e Devid hia kevbe ivbi ọkpọmwa ẹnrẹn wa do lẹga ẹre.
6 He was throwing stones at David and at all the servants of King David, as well as at all the people and the mighty men on his right and on his left.
7 E Simẹi keghi ya ihẹn yan rẹn, ọ wẹẹ, “Ladian mwa! Ladian mwa! Izigha! Ọrhiaẹvbo!
7 Shimʹe·i said as he cursed: “Get out, get out, you bloodguilty man! You worthless man!
8 U mu arriọba e Sọl, te Nọyaẹnmwa ghi rria ruẹ ikhi na ba ẹmwẹ emwa ẹgbẹe e Sọl ne u gbele rua. Banbanna nian, e Nọyaẹnmwa vbe mu arriọba nii ne Absalọm ne ovbuẹ nẹ, ọghuẹ fo nẹ vbe agbọn, wẹ ne izigha!”
8 Jehovah has brought back on you all the bloodguilt for the house of Saul, in whose place you have ruled as king, but Jehovah gives the kingship into the hand of Abʹsa·lom your son. Now calamity has overtaken you because you are a bloodguilty man!”
9 Ẹre Abisiai ne ovbi e Zeruaia na tama ọba wẹẹ, “Umogun, vbọzẹe ne u na rhie ẹghẹ ne ovbiakota na ya gha rhovbiọ yi? Gu mwẹ bu ẹre ne I ya fian ẹre uhunmwu fua!”
9 Then A·bishʹai the son of Ze·ruʹiah said to the king: “Why should this dead dog curse my lord the king? Let me go over, please, and take off his head.”
10 Ọba keghi khama Abisiai kevbe Joab ne ọtiọnrẹn wẹẹ, “Ọ ma zẹdẹ kan uwa, adeghẹ ọ rhovbiẹ mwẹ rhunmwuda wẹẹ e Nọyaẹnmwa ẹre ọ wẹẹ nọ rhovbiẹ mwẹ, gha ọ ghi ra rri ọre unu ẹnrẹn?”
10 But the king said: “What do I have to do with you, you sons of Ze·ruʹiah? Let him curse me, for Jehovah has said to him, ‘Curse David!’ So who should say, ‘Why are you doing this?’”
11 Ẹre Devid na tama Abisiai kevbe avbe ekhaẹmwẹ ọnrẹn hia wẹẹ, “Ovbi imẹ wẹ rẹn ra gbe mwẹ rua, vbọzẹe ne ẹmwẹ ovbi e Bẹnjamin na, na yan uwa unuan yi? Wa sẹ ọre rae, ne uwa gie ẹe gha rhovbiẹ mwẹ, rhunmwuda, e Nọyaẹnmwa ẹre ọ gie ẹre.
11 David then said to A·bishʹai and all his servants: “Here my own son, who came from my own body, is seeking my life,* and how much more now a Benʹja·min·ite! Leave him alone so that he may curse me, for Jehovah told him to!
12 Ughaghe, e Nọyaẹnmwa gha zẹ ye usẹ ẹmwẹ agbọn ne I miẹn, ọ ghi ya ihẹn nọ tie na khian afiangbe mẹ.”
12 Perhaps Jehovah will see my affliction, and Jehovah will restore goodness to me instead of the curses shouted at me this day.”
13 Ẹre Devid kevbe emwa rẹn na lele odẹ. E Simẹi na kpe lele iran, ọ na gha zẹ ebubẹ ku iran vbe nọ khian nii.
13 With that David and his men kept going down the road while Shimʹe·i was walking alongside the mountain abreast of him, shouting curses and throwing stones and a lot of dust.

Now David was sitting between the two city gates, and the watchman went up to the roof of the gate by the wall. He looked up and saw a man running by himself.
25 Ọ keghi niẹn urhu tama ọba. Ọba keghi kha wẹẹ, “ Deghẹ irẹn ọkpa nọ, iyẹn oghọghọ ọre ọ dee do na.” Ẹre ne ọ rhulẹ dee nii na hẹko gha ye egbe dee.
25 So the watchman called out and told the king. The king said: “If he is by himself, he has news to tell.” As he came steadily nearer,
26 Ọbodẹ nii keghi vbe bẹghe ọvbehe vbe rhulẹ dee, rẹn ọkpa vbe ẹhi ẹre, ọ tama nọ bodẹ vbe onurho wẹẹ, “Ye ghee vbe ọmwa ọvbehe vbe rhulẹ dee.” Ọba keghi vbe wanniẹn wẹẹ, “ lyẹn esi ẹre ọna vbe dee do na.”
26 the watchman saw another man running. The watchman then called to the gatekeeper: “Look! Another man running by himself!” The king said: “This one is also bringing news.”

Ọ keghi do ba mwẹ ohoghe ma ruẹn Umogun, sokpan, te u wẹ yevbe odibosa, rhunmwuda ọnii, emwi ne ọ ghi kei vbe aro ruẹ, ru mwẹ re.
But he slandered your servant to my lord the king. However, my lord the king is like an angel of the true God, so do whatever seems good to you.
(2 Sam. 22:21-23)

Jehovah rewards me according to my righteousness; He repays me according to the innocence* of my hands.

22 For I have kept the ways of Jehovah, And I have not wickedly abandoned my God.
23 I mu uhi ẹre hia sẹ, I ma he uhunmwu ye ọre obọ.
23 All his judgments are before me; I will not deviate from his statutes.
